Great Place to Work® is pleased to announce the 2019 list of Best Workplaces for Millennials. To be eligible for this list, organizations must be Great Place to Work Certified™ in the past year, at least 30% of their employees must fit the Millennial demographic (born after 1980) and they must have minimum 90% positive response to the statement "I am treated fairly regardless of my age". We determined the BEST based on millennial employee responses to our Trust Index Survey.
“Turns out a lot of people got millennials wrong. Far from being selfish job-hoppers, they’re just searching for a position with great leaders, fair base pay, and support for their real-life needs. And when organizations deliver on those requests, millennials deliver big time for their organizations.”
~Michael Bush, CEO Great Place to Work
Here’s how the Best Workplaces for Millennials are winning over the largest age cohort:
Great Leaders
Ian Martin Group replaced their traditional performance review with the 15five tool. This allows employees to keep on track of their tasks, ask for feedback, and give “high fives” to coworkers that have impacted their week positively. With 15five, individuals answer 3 questions around how they are doing, what their challenges have been over the past week and what they are proud of accomplishing. Teams can opt for group visibility and the tool creates a structured focus on productivity and growth while emphasizing personal ownership.
Fair Pay
Everyone who works at Admiral is an owner of Admiral! Twice a year Admiral purchases company shares for employees. These shares vest for three years before they can be cashed out and dividends are paid twice yearly in the interim.
Support for Real Life Needs
The $1,000 Well-Being for Life incentive at Intuit covers physical, emotional and financial well-being services such as massages, meditation, Headspace App, sports equipment, camping gear, financial advising services, house cleaning and activity-tracking devices (e.g. Apple Watch).
